Meet Dr. Mapes
The Professional Side
Dr. Oriana Mapes earned her Doctorate of Dental Surgery in 2008 from the University of Western Ontario, and completed a residency in Pediatric Dentistry in 2012 (with concurrent fellowship in neurodevelopmental and related disorders) at the University of Rochester. As a Diplomate of the American Board of Pediatric Dentistry, Dr. Ly-Mapes is deeply committed to lifelong learning and constant improvement. She is a Fellow of the LILAC program (Breastfeeding Fellowship, University of Rochester), and holds Assistant Professor faculty positions at the Eastman Institute for Oral Health (Division of Pediatric Dentistry) and University of Rochester Medical Center (Department of Pediatrics). She is a member of the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry, College of Diplomates, Royal College of Dentists of Canada, and Academy of Breastfeeding Medicine.
The Personal Side
As a mom of four kids, Dr. Mapes truly understands that each child has unique needs. She strives to develop meaningful relationships with families, especially as they navigate through the early years of childhood. She firmly believes that pediatric dentists can play a vital role in family-centered care, and collaboration with partners in all clinical care fields ultimately improves consistency of care and overall health.
